Surprisingly, Alaska Airlines is not involved in this itinerary. Please identify the three airlines, the routing and the three aircraft and their variants.

ANC-SEA CO M80, SEA-LAX NW D9S, LAX-LTO JR DC9

Muy bien! Aqui esta su boleto, Senor!

Continental CO 480 Anchorage (ANC) 650a-1115a B Seattle (SEA) MD-80 Daily
Northwest NW 66 Seattle (SEA) 125p-404p L Los Angeles (LAX) DC-9-30 X45
AeroCalifornia JR 141 Los Angeles (LAX) 655p-845p D Loreto (LTO) DC-9-10 Daily

If this is indeed correct, I’m *exceedingly* surprised to see that second leg … I remember occasionally noticing a D9S on NW’s MSP-GEG services, but I sure don’t recall them coming west of the mountains

I also found Northwest's use of the DC-9-30 on the busy SEA-LAX route surprising, but it was an extension of an inbound flight from Tokyo and evidently matched NW's needs. Northwest DC-9-30s also served SEA twice daily from GEG, those flights originating in MSP

17. (1990) Even on the best of days, flying from Houston (either airport) to Freeport, Bahamas can be a trying experience. Today’s itinerary, while benefitting from good connecting times, still involves three nonstop flights – each of them operated by the same model and variant of aircraft. Can you figure out which aircraft type we’re talking about, the routing (including which Houston airport) and the three airlines involved?

We know the answer doesn’t include MIA/FLL/PBI, so I suspect we’re looking at Orlando/MCO; how about USAir

You would think, but no. Let's make things a bit easier here. No connections were made in Florida or Georgia. USAir was not involved...
