I booked 2 economy tickets JFK-HND on Dec 1 for travel end of January and it was in Pending status for over 1.5 months. 3 calls to AA only to be told to wait closer to the travel date. Yesterday I chatted AA in the app and they were able to get it ticketed right away. However later that day I saw they deducted miles twice - once on Dec 1 when I first booked and again when the app agent moved it to ticketing. Had to call AA to reverse out one of the charges (80 min wait time). Didn't bother to check if I was charged $5.60 twice for the fees.
