Connection time USA-YUL-International Separate tickets?
We (wife and I) managed to score business class seats on QR business YUL-DOH (depart 21:35). We would need positioning flight IAD-YUL (or DCA-YUL). Currently considering AC flight DCA-YUL that arrives at 18:04. Travel is late May so winter delays not a concern.
Is 3 1/2 hours enough to clear customs, get bags and check-in at QR at YUL? Is there a way to transfer without going through immigration (again we will be on separate tickets, but not sure if AC will check bags through with QR). We will have checked bags.The only other option would be a flights much earlier (arriving at 13:00 or 14:00) in the day, which would give us a long 7 or 8 hr layover. From what I read, it seems 7 hrs is too short to get into town and do something meaningful given the bad traffic and all. But if too risky, I would be open to suggestions on what to do in MTL for an afternoon?
