Sort of an interesting conundrum I have here: I am visiting during sakura season and booked one room at the Regency and put my traveling companions at the Hyatt Place Kyoto as there was only one room available at the Regency at the time, both reservations under my name.
I have a reservation for dinner that the Hyatt Place Kyoto reserved for me (surprisingly they booked me a 7 PM slot the very day the Regency concierge emailed me to let me know that reservations at this restaurant would not be available until late February, and I would likely need to eat after 9 PM after the regulars had taken the better spots. Seems odd from the praise the Regency concierge receives here). In the time since, a room has opened up at the Regency for my dates and I have booked it. I would like to cancel the Hyatt Place reservation and transfer the restaurant reservation to the Regency. As they are both Hyatt properties, this seems like it should be possible right? If so, would I just explain the situation to the Regency concierge and ask them to take care of it? In honesty, restaurant reservation is more important to me than the hotel, I would stay in the HPK if necessary to keep it.
