Thank you for reassuring me!
I'm curious, what has been the conclusion of your chargeback?
I have a pending chargeback against a company that seems to be going bankrupt. They shut their store and weren't answering emails anymore (they stopped answering emails but continued selling their services...). I wonder how Amex sends the dispute... but what if there's nobody at the other end to answer it. I also wonder where the money comes from, such as in a case where the merchant does not have it anymore. It's been over a month and the status is still "awaiting merchant's response". Similarly I worry that the process takes forever to fully close, preventing me from any other recourse as there are other victims of this company, some who lost a lot more, and they may already be suing and the like to get whatever was left.
