From what I understand there was no issue with MCT at all; the transfer at CDG was 2 hours shorter than originally planned - but still consisted of many hours in Paris. Hence its great that AF/FB were willing to help, however they probably had no legal obligation to do so (As due to the delay the trip actually become shorter, which usually is a good thing)
