I actually had no idea how to contact the Mexican Police. I also know that strange things have happened to tourists with regards to the Mexican Police.

A key reason I chose to stay at a highly rated all inclusive $500 / night hotel within a gated community was to ensure I was safe.

Bear in mind as well that I am a female. I was worried about being physically assaulted as well as raped. I also have a significant ankle injury that prohibits me from walking quickly (much less running) without significant pain. I had surgery two weeks ago to fix it. My point is I was a single woman in a foreign country terrified for my safety.

What would your response be to your mother / wife / sister / daughter / niece in this had happened to them?
