Some changes airlines make over time to their fleets require a physical structural change to an aircraft, and appropriate paperwork. But most often changes airlines make to their fleet involve paying the correct fees, submitting the correct paperwork, and once approved you have a more, or sometimes less capable aircraft. Less capable may seem strange, but sometimes airlines choose to lower their maximum takeoff weight for example, to save money on landing fees and overflight charges, rather than pay ongoing fees for capabilities they don’t need.
Thank you both for your replies, very interesting to read and now I know what SR stands for.

Until recently BA cityflyer planes were only allowed to have 100 seats as per a union agreement . BOB is not coming to cityflyer mainly as it would be unlikely to do well given the different market at LCY . This space will not disappear as no decision has been made I cannot honestly see 6 seats making a difference to how much money it makes and with the embrarer planes being up for renewal soon
Still not convinced yet or are you an internal BA leak distractor?

Edited to add - sorry, just seen ‘londonba2014’ has already posted the leak, but there does seem to be a trend between this member’s posts and reality revealing itself around about a week later.
