Update

Hoshino Resorts will open 1955 Tokyo Bay at the former location of Tokyo Bay Tokyu Hotel, the opening date is June 20, 2024. 1955 was the year the first Disney theme park, Disneyland, opened in Anaheim, CA in the U.S.A. The theme of the hotel will be 1955 America. Interestingly, 1955 Tokyo Bay is a Hoshino Resort hotel, but the rate starts from 5319 yen/night.

If you are not familiar with Hoshino Resort, Hoshino Resort operates upper scale hotel properties in Japan (Hoshino Resorts does have a property in Guam and Taiwan). But looks like Hoshino Resort is tapping into an economical hotel also. OMO5 Tokyo Gotanda operated by Hoshino Resort is opening on April 11, 2024, and the rate at this property starts from 10000 yen/night. Yes, 10000 yen/night in the middle of Tokyo is reasonable. Other reasonably priced Hoshino Resort property in Tokyo is OMO3 Tokyo Akasaka, (the rate from 4000 yen/night) and OMO3 Tokyo Asakusa (the rate from 7500 yen/night.
