I could be wildly misinformed, but my understanding is that ship's Captains can no longer perform a legal ceremony. However, many ships do have a member of the Clergy on-board, so, perhaps, that would be considered a legitimate marriage ceremony. As you are sailing South Pacific, you might want to look into a Fijian ceremony. Friends of ours did this and it sounded quite wonderful.
