We will see, Spring of this year is supposed to be an opening of a new lounge area for international. Over at the domestic area of KIX, ANA and JAL decided to go with the joint lounge, rather than having an individual lounge. This is the first example of ANA and JAL joint lounge. I am thinking ANA and JAL will not do that in the international area, but who knows?

ITM used to be the international airport for Osaka, PanAm, Northwest, British Airways, Air France, etc. all operated out of ITM. All international operations moved to KIX when KIX opened in 1994. ITM is located in the middle of the city and there was no room for expansion. Osaka needed a new airport to expand its international operations. Due to its location in the middle of the city, ITM has a curfew and noise restrictions. ITM is a convenient location for passengers heading to/from Osaka, but for airlines ITM has a lot of restrictions.
