Absolutely not a Boeing issue at all, however ground collision/proximity incidents during taxi or pushback at US airports seem to be something that happens with what one might consider a disturbing frequency, something into which the FAA has already launched an investigation, I believe.
Are ATC issueing unclear taxi instructions? Are dispatchers 'jumping the gun' to clear flights from the gate to ensure on time departures, thus putting their aircraft in the path of others nearby? Do captains lack sufficient spatial awareness as to be unaware of the breadth of their aircraft's wingspan so that they inadvertently clip other planes/structures while trundling along the apron? Enquiring minds want to know...
