Your issue aside this is a great offer. I have it on both P1 and P2 card. Spend $4,500 and get 24,000 Marriott points, assuming no bonus spending. I typically still get over $0.008 value for my points, so its over a 4% return
I agree that it's a great offer giving you more than 5 points per $ on every day spend which is more than I can ever hope for.
But to me 24k points is such a measly amount and will not even give you 1 night in many standard Courtyards or Fairfield Inns or the like, never mind mid tier or high end properties. I wish there would be no cap on this offer or that this would be unlimited 5x points until 3/31 and I'd move a ton of spend over to them so I can amass as many points as I possibly can. I had a very generous amount of points converted to Marriott from the SPG days and I'm almost down to the bottom of it, so would love an easy and quick way to replenish.
