I'm back to report my Poland train rides went well.

The trains from Wroclaw to Oswiecim were of the regular regional variety. I booked my ticket at the Wroclaw station window. Thanks to the Google Translate app, two very nice Katowice station security men helped me find my connection platform.

Katowice - Oswiecim train.

I booked the 5-hour EIP Krakow - Gdansk ticket on Koleo (again, thanks to xyzzy) and installed the app on my phone. My ticket was super easy to access, but didn't show the platform number and I couldn't find it searching schedules on the app in the bitter cold. That's an important detail because the Uber/taxi drop-off point at the station is on the top level of the parking garage. Evenly spaced are numbered elevator shafts. Since I had plenty of time, I started to walk toward the building entrance, but it was still shuttered with metal gates. I chose an elevator and was way off. IIRC, I think I chose 5, the closest to where I was dropped, and the platform was 1. So if you know you'll be short on time and will arrive by car, find out what your platform number is beforehand.

And if you're arriving in Gdansk and are going to use ride share, know that there are two pick-up points on opposite sides of the station. Thankfully, I figured it out in time to cancel the first request and had a do over.

Passengers lined up early to board at Krakow Glowny, like 30-45 minutes early.

Klasa 1 / First Class. The configuration is 2-2, except for the ends, where there are single seats. I booked a window and was assigned a single window.

The seats across from me.

The snack menu. I had my heart set on salad, but both had blue cheese and I don't like blue cheese, so I went with the mini pulled pork sandwiches. The young (maybe 19-20 year old) car attendant didn't speak English and was in almost constant motion, so I didn't bother attempting to request customization.

Coffee and pulled pork sandwiches. Six weeks later and I can't recall if and what kind of sauce the meat had and if they were especially good or bad. I suppose that means they were perfectly fine and not memorable.

Over the roughly last two hours of the ride, I saw spots of blue Poland sky for the first and only time.
