Question about New Year's Eve - we've snagged a Times Square view room at the Edition for NYE next year with points. Watching the Times Square festivities on TV, they always talk about how far in advance people have to show up. If staying in the Edition, can you still access Times Square closer to midnight? Or would it make more sense to just celebrate and watch from the room?
Depending on your room type, you may not actually have the best view of Times Square - the suites have the best views. However, considering how rancid and packed TS tends to be at the best of times, I wouldn’t be in a hurry to actually venture into the heart of it during a major event. Having said that, considering how the hotel is smack bang in the middle of Times Square, I can’t see how you wouldn’t be able to leave the hotel and access the square, unless the crowds are so dense that you can’t move. Hopefully someone with direct experience of NYE here will be able to weigh in.
