I'm trying to decide if I will be more annoyed by getting a middle seat, or by paying for a seat and having half a dozen available at OLCI and having not needed to pay for one.

I don't have status, so UuA seems unlikely. Which ticket classes are eligible? I can't seem to find mine anywhere on the site, but it wasn't expensive.
Hopefully it works out for you! No right or wrong way I suppose and everyone has a different strategy. I think you'll be OK. I'm just an overly cautious person in general.

You don't need status to UuA. Normal revenue/cash tickets are eligible for upgrading. More info in the BA Forum Dashboard.

ETA: WTP tickets are sold as W, E and T. I'd assume as you say it wasn't that expensive it will be a T class fare.

Can you post back re how you get on in your flight? I like how a 'story' ends and I hope it ends well!!

(Apologies to the Mods for OT on this thread but it naturally flowed from loads/EF, thanks)

Pete
