And ticketing LAX-DOH-DXB-DOH-DPS may have fallen over for similar reasons to the baggage issue - doubling back on yourself. Two tickets sounds like it might be the only way to have booked that particular journey. Hopefully it all works out and you hit the 600 in time. Remember that for a tier upgrade it's 600 qpoints in a rolling 12 months rather than a fixed 12 months before your current renewal date
Looking at my profile- Gold Card - at least I know the number required to jump to the next tier. And the monthly statement gives me the "sell by date". Technically, plenty of time if all goes as planned with my scheduled flights. I even scheduled the last flights as reasonably close to the end of March so the new 12 months will not move much, providing I understand Qatar's system of updating tiers.
