I understand Expedia is probably considered 'reputable' but I'm 0 for 2 with them so far. Both paid J.
Schedule change on a flight created a negative-22 hour connection. Needed multiple calls, 3+ hours on the phone (not including wait time) and an eventual group call with Expedia Supervisor and a supervisor from the airline to fix. Also forced me to leave a day earlier and cost me hotel room.
Last summer, could not replicate the booking with airline for a $2,000 difference. Took a chance. Got a 3 hour schedule change, Airline confirmed I was eligible for rebooking without a fee, Expedia said they could not without repricing the ticket. I got proof from the airline that TAs were authorized to change. Was still refused.
Going forward: 1) Airline direct. 2) Create booking on ITA Martix if possible pay a TA a fee for booing the ticket. OTAs as a last resort and expect to have major problems.
But I will pay more to not book with an OTA
