And just like frequent flyers who earn miles for travel from tickets that are bought by their employers and get the benefit of using those miles for personal use, I as a benefit have received from the company I work for, the privilage of flying in an otherwise empty seat for a fee not free.

That is a benefit that I'm awarded for dealing with all the ANGST.
My mistake. For some reason I thought customers should get priority over employees in terms of upgrades. Please forgive my ignorance.

From your posts regarding business travellers, it seems you have some sort of resentment towards them, particularly those who enjoy the miles received on tickets paid for by their employers. Fortunately, most at CO realize that those "greedy" business travellers are also the hand that feeds them.
