Once again, your numbers are off for DL MQD earn if booking on partners as they will be mileage based, NOT spend based. 14000 miles x 30% = 4200 MQD for each trip. I believe that you will only be eligible for day of departure upgrades on DL flights as an FB elite, so I fail to see you how you think you will better with upgradability as an FB Elite (if you can get to DL Gold by earning mileage-based MQD).
