The “no self connecting passenger” thing is because Ryanair refuse to pay for connections and wanted the cost to run it stripped out of their airport charges (i.e. they neither want their passengers to use it, given they don’t support a connections model nor do they want to subsidise the cost of other airlines passengers availing of it).
