I see, maybe I am misremembering things. When I first got 1K many years ago I got free global entry and I also got it free when I renewed 5 years ago. But I also had the MP Explorer card then too. I've since done away with that card but maybe it's time to get it again for the global entry credit plus 65k bonus miles (and being able to upgrade award tickets considering UA decided not to invite me back to GS this year!).
