If not, does anyone know when they are supposed to be refitted (hopefully with Q Suites)??
I would keep checking the seating chart. I flew DOH-KUL in December; when I booked my flights, both legs were Qsuites. I think maybe 2-3 weeks out the return leg KUL-DOH got switched to the 2-2-2 config. I did get an email notification and also giving me the option to change flights at no cost should I wish too (I had the Business Classic fare). I kept my flight as I needed to make a connection and didn’t have an to mess up that Qsuite situation. They did keep the Qsuites on the DOH-KUL flight 🙏🏼
But then I also have another trip DOH-KUL coming up in 3 weeks. When I made the booking, again both legs Qsuites. When I checked on my seat about 2 weeks ago, found that again the KUL-DOH flight reverted to 2-2-2 config but I didn’t not get a notification or option to switch flights. Thinking maybe because it’s still far out? Then last night I checked and now both DOH-KUL and KUL-DOH legs are 1-2-1 config on the 787-9, which I think is the reverse herringbone, right? I’m just hoping it doesn’t ultimately get switched to 2-2-2 for both, I would be so sad.
To be honest, the 2-2-2 wasn’t as awful as I thought it would be, just felt bad for the dude in the aisle next to me (I was in A by the window). I grossly miscalculated my hop over him as he was sleeping and ended up tripping, kicking his seat and then straddling him awkwardly for a good 15 seconds before I managed to extract myself. So the moral of the story is don’t select seats B or J in the 2-2-2 config if you’re flying solo 🙈🙈🙈
