Interestingly, after renting from Hertz for decades, today was the first time I saw a rate changed on me (months after booking). It was a rental at LGA and went up from $88 to $114 for a midsize for a one day one way rental. Conf email clearly shows $88 and yet when I go to my reservations the higher rate is shown. So I modified it to one car class higher (standard) and now the rate is $91 (only $3 higher than the old rate). Weirdly, if I go to book a new reservation (not modify my old one) I can get the $88 rate back. But I cannot get it back on a midsize by modifying (using the same CDP and RQ). I'm not going to make a new reservation (yet) as I don't trust the midsize booking... and I'll wait to see what happens with the new booking over time. Still a few mos away from picking up.
