I am not opposed, in principle, to riding the NJT Bus (especially now that you can buy tickets throught the app). It is difficult, however, to ride the bus with large suitcases. The AirTrain is the least painful option when riding Amtrak into EWR with large suitcases. The other option would be to get off at Newark Penn and take a cab or Uber from there to Terminal A.
