In general, you can ask for original routing credit (ORC) when AS puts you on another carrier. That would give you the AS miles/EQM, and on top of that you can earn in the other airline’s program.
Fortunately I'm retired and own a condo so no extra cost, except missing my daughter's 18th birthday (priceless
). Oahu was colder this week, actually used a light blanket at night for 1st time in ages.
