I was told this by UA quite explicitly. During an account review a few years ago; $70k spent on 016 tickets - flying LH, LX, NH. Was told (which I knew tbh) that flights needed to be on UA planes to be relevant. I think this is one of the few things that are quite certain with the GS program.
