Its hard to tell because candidly, no one knows what the qualification criteria is. I flew NH last year to and from HND and ticketed on UA and it was 016 stock. I saw UA equivalent flight numbers but when the flights posted I simply saw the NH details on my statement. I wasn't sure if that spend (around $10K) would count towards GS. I do what is the cheapest and most convenient. I know thats my approach to this year.
no it obviously does not count, but that is not the OPs question. 016 tickets do not matter for GS, it has to be UA metal.
