Somewhat obscure question that may not have a clear answer, but I figured I'd ask. I currently booking a flight AKL-BOS, on UA metal both AKL-SFO and SFO-BOS. It is pricing out significantly less expensive as an ANZ code share vs. straight UA ticket. If I credit the flight to Mileage Plus, I realize I won't get full credit for the spend but rather something based on multiples of miles, but does anyone know if the flight would be considered when looking at spend for GS qualification? Its hard to tell because candidly, no one knows what the qualification criteria is. I flew NH last year to and from HND and ticketed on UA and it was 016 stock. I saw UA equivalent flight numbers but when the flights posted I simply saw the NH details on my statement. I wasn't sure if that spend (around $10K) would count towards GS. I do what is the cheapest and most convenient. I know thats my approach to this year.
