I posted this on another thread but here is an update.
To avoid the long walk and airtrain all together i used NJ transit train to North Elizabeth Station.
Then took uber to Terminal A, This was So much better than going the ewr train station and the airtrain and super long walk.
I highly recommend this if You use NJ transit train from South Jersey.

On return, the train schedule did not work out well and waiting for a train in Winter outside at North Elizabeth station would have been no Fun.
So i opted for the Airtrain.
From terminal A i took the inter shuttle on Air side.
Took it to terminal C where i went to airtrain terminal and took that to NJ trainsit EWR Station.
The inter shuttle was waiting and took maybe 10 minutes. Beat walking or the landside shuttle bus to airtrain Terminal A stop by far.
