I recently flew Juneyao domestically out of PVG. I was able to use the business/priority check-in desk which was empty compared to the other check-in lines which had maybe 30 people and four agents available. There was a star alliance logo at the business desk. I enquired about lounge access, and they explained that lounge access for Star Alliance partners was only for Air China and none of the other connecting partners. I attached my Aeroplan number and was able to obtain credited miles for this flight. The flight departed from the far end of the terminal, and there were comfy lie flat seats, so I was able to snooze (which was good since the 3 hour connection turned out to be 6 hours). Boarding (without any priority for me as *G elite) was fast and efficient and the meal was good. The plane was newish and clean (including the washrooms) but the flight attendants had very limited command of English.
