this happens to me every year. I just email the GGL team and ask them to sort it with Hilton. They are usually very efficient about it and it’s back up to Diamond in a week or so.
I think it affects only some GGLs. I am guessing something to do with the renewal cycles between GGL and Hilton. My GGL membership year ends in October, and I have never had a problem with my Hilton Diamond renewing.
