I completed another stay here recently and service levels were overall very good. An upgrade from a standard room to a junior suite was offered proactively, with a further upgrade to a junior suite with view for an additional €40.
I opted for the junior suite with view and the room was very clean (I suspect the carpet had been recently replaced). Personally, I still think rooms 705/805 (junior suite) while lacking a view offer much more space and are the better value proposition (while being more “used”).
The spa continues to be a highlight of the hotel as well as the bar, both of which were very busy during my short stay (the cocktails were in particular very good and the bar was full both nights).
Toiletries in room were Aesop (geranium).
I did ultimately transfer to the RC having wanted to try it for a long time, and at least for me, it is clear the RC operates to a higher overall standard in terms of service levels with more modern rooms/decor and a more truly “lux” vibe (there is however an obvious price differential).
WA Berlin continues to offer a comfortable stay in what I consider to be a convenient and upmarket part of Berlin, although it is overall more of a 5* business/leisure hotel, rather than a truly luxury/top of brand experience. That’s also reflected in the rooms at WA being more dated in appearance and style, while still being very comfortable.
(I did not try breakfast this stay).
