I have wanted to try the RC Berlin for some time, typically staying at the Waldorf Astoria. I was in a Deluxe Suite and had a fantastic stay.
On arrival we were greeted by name by the doorman who had been “expecting us”, check in was very efficient and room was ready at 1pm, we were invited to the lobby lounge at 6pm for a glass of champagne (actually English sparkling wine, but it was nonetheless very nice - this was unexpected and was a much more intimate experience than the typical executive lounge benefit), bar service whilst a little slow was excellent and the server very personable (great martini, excellent mocktail, snacks were good quality). Overall, exemplary service and a notch above the usual 5* experience.
The spa was however underwhelming, while perfectly adequate (and indeed, empty each time I visited). Room service food the one time I used it for dinner was lacking.
Location wise, for my personal preferences, I prefer Waldorf and ease of access to KaDeWe and Kudam, however I would not say the RC was in any way inconvenient, just obviously different, and I had much fun renting “Tier” scooters and bicycles to KaDeWe, Christmas markets, and Zoo.
I’d definitely return to this hotel and highly recommend, although admittedly it does come with a relatively high price tag. During my dates, it was priced above the main competitors, although those are in my view all rather dated properties in comparison.
(The toiletry products were Diptique in both the room and spa, no breakfast for elites - this did not bother me as I typically do not have much beyond a coffee for breakfast, and the product offering of the hotel makes up for it in my view).
