That's the thing... not sure where I am coming from as of yet. Arriving via Avanti from Manchester on Tuesday, so Euston, of course. Booking a hotel currently for that night and trying to decide. I'd considered booking something a bit farther west, and then catching an Uber, as it seemed prices were about £50, but I'm also only familiar(ish) with central London (and yes, the traffic). But figured unless I stay close to the Lizzy Line, I'm looking at two taxi rides anyway, though did notice time estimates are similar. I have had taxi rides from St. Pancras to Bloomsbury take 20 minutes, so point about time is well taken. It would be lovely to be dropped off close enough (I presume?) to walk in and drop my bag with the airline.
Options are all much of a muchness really. Personally I wouldn't bother with taxis. You could stay close to St Pancras, walkable from Euston, and then just catch the Piccadilly Line to T3 the next day. That's relatively slow but very straightforward for your itinerary.

Alternatively, you could jump on the H&C line from Euston Square for the few stops to Paddington (or taxi I suppose) and stay there, then getting the Lizzie Line straight from there next day.

Or stay at a Heathrow hotel of course.

Somewhere near Farringdon/Tottenham Court Road/Bond Street would also work but I don't suspect you'll find that much easier/cheaper.

And re your initial Q, 2 hours is indeed fine although since you're OWE there's no pain in arriving earlier if you have nowt else to do.
