Babies scream during takeoff and landing phases because their Eustachian tubes are not developed and they simply don’t know how to clear their ears. They are screaming because they are in pain. The moment the aircraft starts to descend giving them a bottle can help as the act of sucking helps clear their ears. Don’t fly with a baby that has any sinus or ear issues ongoing. You are going to cause them serious pain and cause long term hearing damage.
I’ve found the ears tend to be worse with landing (as compared to takeoff) and try to hold off on a feed until before landing so they are hungry and want to take the bottle.
