As I previously stated, I had $70k out of MSP. Almost 100% in international D1 or domestic FC, plus $300k in AMEX Reserve spend. I agree with randomness and also shifting spending to get status with either UA or AA in additional to Diamond.
For Delta 360 they also consider if you’re based in a city with heavy airline competition. Your $70k ticket spend and $300k amex spend would most likely get you Delta 360 if you lived in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, or Seattle. Unfortunately Delta knows that customers in Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, and Salt Lake City don’t have many choices other than Delta.
