I would hardly call either the FAA's actions or the posts by those who actually appreciate what's going on here "overreaction." There's patent evidence of shoddy manufacturing and deficient QC by Boeing and/or its subs, and given the potentially catastrophic consequences of an in-flight failure, the FAA's response thus far is entirely appropriate.
I don’t fault the FAA for the actions they are taking. And while I may ultimately join those who want to see the FAA crack down on Boeing, those who have already concluded that Boeing is guilty are the ones who have overreacted.
