I was just on Facebook and saw a link to an article on Prince of Travel detailing a $20 hidden fee when redeemng your Westjet Companion Voucher.

Essentially, you are being charged a $20 fee
in addition to the copay of $119 or $399. To me this is clearly a cash grab and it's been going on under our noses for a while it seems. I would have to believe that this is cause for a class action for deceptive advertising and I would be interested to know if RBC is aware of this fee.
There are going to be a lot of people that dismiss this as just another airline trying to continue the tradition of hiding additional fees but this one just feels ... different. It's clearly a fee to use your companion voucher as it appears in no other type of booking.
You have to ask the question of how many people that signed up for the credit card would have done so if they knew that the copay was $139 of $419 rather than the widely advertised $119 and $399.
Deceptive at best - criminal at worst.
