I've never understood why they don't carry a mixture of hot and cold meals when CE is more than 24. Say CE is 30, load 24 hot and 6 salads - simple. That way most people will still get a hot meal if they want one, and some may actively choose a salad in any case. This is the same as mainline I think - there is a choice of hot or cold meals. I don't know why Cityflyer takes the view that with more than 24 passengers, everyone gets a cold dish. Perhaps some operational reason which is beyond me.
