This is in response to those with prepaid accommodation issues. I am very sorry that your plans are disrupted this way. I do think that this is a case for travel insurance and that a claim to travel insurance would be the most appropriate response. No travel insurance? That means that you chose to self-insure your trip which means that you took on the risk that some sort of issue could arise. There are some fairly reasonable annual policies out there for frequent travelers. It might help in the future.
