You can combine GC and eCredit via chat/phone. Or, buy a $100-ish ticket with a GC then cancel for eCredit. You can combine multiple eCredits online.

Note that Delta recently stopped allowing cancelations for eCredit within 1-2 days of buying a ticket. It always goes to the original form of payment. This means that each "buy then cancel for eCredit" step takes around 2 days.
