- Agree with the caution about dynamic currency conversion.
- Check with your bank for a debit/credit card which offers best/zero Mastercard/Visa rate:

- For the local currency you will need, don't use one of the non-bank ATMs but go to a 'proper' bank branch. For local walk-about currency you should pay a fixed fee for cash. If you draw out EUR200 it will cost the same as EUR50
- Use your card even for small purchases, don't (please!!) overtip.
