I've flown J a fair few times and F twice in the last 12 months, both in the 'old' F. The first flight to Chicago was poor, the second to JFK last week was fantastic and realised it's as much to do with the crew as anything else. But, it was a lot more expensive in J in terms of Avios/payment, so not convinced I made the right decision to switch from J to F.

Why did I switch? My flight to JFK had the 'new' F and wanted to experience it, but then the day before the flight was switched to a 777-200 and received the 'old' F with the seat which I think is past it's lifespan. Looks like a good well-used old bus seat on a coach that was in its prime when it was released but now looks dated. The IFE is fairly shocking, slow and frustrating.

My view on F is this: if you're going on a cruise, spent a lot of money on an expensive vacation or it's your honeymoon, definitely go for F. You'll enjoy the CCR, the beverages on the flight and the service. But if you're flying for business and/or just off on an everyday vacation, it's probably not worth it for me.
