Sat in Schipol at the moment heading back from a meeting in Strasbourg. Flew to Basel and took the bus from just outside arrivals to Saint-Louis (you can pay by credit card on the bus) and then the TER journey 1 hour 10 minutes up to Strasbourg. I tend to pay the extra for first class on the train as typically the carriage is very quiet and tbh in travelling to Strasbourg several times a year for over 20 years now I have only caught the train once when there was no first class carriage. Last night hotels around the station were around 100-135 euros (prices vary widely though if as has been said the European Parliament is sitting or the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Arok, Tandem, Hotel des Vosges, Le Grand Hotel - all opposite the station are very decent. Last night the Sofitel was 135 euros. Enjoy!
