I've flown BA F and J on countless occasions, and so am reasonably familiar with the differences, at least before the introduction of the new J suites. With the introduction of the J suites. however, I'd like to get people's views of whether it continues to be worth spending more (in my hypothetical below, 50% more) for F vs J under the following scenario. (I understand completely that the value of money differs significantly among people. There's nothing I can do about that. I'd still like your views!)

For purposes of this discussion, assume I am flying JFK-LHR-DXB.

These are not actual prices, but assume the pricing for a return ticket is US$4,000 in J and US$6,000 in F. (For the record, that is not far off from the pricing I have been seeing, and I can apply the AARP and Chase discounts.)

Assume that I'm able to select flights that offer individual suites in J. Easy to do JFK-LHR. More of a challenge LHR-DXB.

For me, the most important thing is the hard product -- the comfort of the seat. I certainly don't mind the better soft product benefits of F vs J -- the CCR at LHR, the fancier food and drink, the more personalized service -- but I don't value them significantly. I just want to be as comfortable as possible in my seat.

Under this scenario, what do people think? Worth going for F vs J?
IMHO No at that price differential
