Apologies for pulling up this old thread but I hope it’s better than starting a new one on the same topic: I’ve seen MH’s policy but wonder if this also goes if the first MH sector is booked as a One World redemption?

I’m soon going MEL-KUL, booked as a QF reward ticket. Then I have about 9 hours layover in KL, followed by KUL-DOH-CDG on QR (paid ticket, all in J if that matters). I’d book some time in the airside hotel as KL if I can be sure that luggage can be checked through. However, if it won’t be and I’ll have to clear immigration anyway, I might well rather go for a cheaper/more comfortable landside accommodation option.

Any suggestions/ experience/ recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
