After a great deal of tinkering, I finally was able to get my account connected and get status with Avis.

I rented a car in Los Angeles. For my “Presidents Club” status, I received:

1) pretty much the same rate that everyone else was providing

2) no free upgrade, or any perks upon check-in

3) my car was infested with ants

4) when I called customer service, the only option was to bring my car back to LAX - which would’ve wasted hours in our short trip there. So I kept on rolling with the ant colony.

5) when I complained upon returning the car, I received a cool $25 discount, which was equivalent to having the cleaning fee waived.

Presidents club? Thanks but no thanks.
