Yes, they just do it in an odd way, or rather a way that takes some getting used to.
They don't take the "left over" miles and add it that balance until it gives 1000 and you have 5 LSP addionally. If they can add from the pool to give you a whole LSP they do, and subtract that from the pool. I had 914 in the pool, after the posting I hace 743 in the pool. They only add to the pool if the leftover plus pool can't reach 1000.
