A VERY interesting datapoint posted to my Hilton acct today. My Amex Surpass statement closed a couple days ago. Today, ALL spend from that card posted as 2024 Hilton base points, INCLUDING the extra 3x bonus pts for grocery spend. It counted towards re-qualifying for status next year, or possibly more importantly for some ppl, counted towards Lifetime Diamond). Granted, all my spend on this card during this statement was prior to 12/31/23, however it was on the January 2024 statement, which I previously ASSUMED would not have counted as base points any longer. I wish I had a charge on my Surpass in 2024 to indeed see if 2024 Amex CC spend still counts as base points, or instead if Amex/HH was simply generous and counted this final month's spend as base points.
